I earned a BS, Landscape Architecture at The Ohio State University. I expanded my design work into interior home improvement projects. Both interior and exterior spaces projects begin with function. How is the space used? What elements are required for specific uses? How is the space accessed? Storage is an essential element to nearly all interior spaces. Is the storage adequate? Can it be improved?
When I was younger, I thought about becoming a writer someday. As time passed and life experience grew, I realized many other women were struggling with the same life balance challenges. Realizing I could help create a roadmap for moving, downsizing, and home organization, I created Essential Home Organization, LLC. After a year in business, I decided it was time to pull all of the information into one source. The book title, Stepping Stones to Harmony, reflects the journey from where things are to where you want them to go. It is a journey to regain order and carve out time for self care. This book provides tools to identify where your time is going and methods to reduce the time and energy spent on managing your home.
I love creating art. I love traveling and taking photographs, drawing, and painting. I used my creativity to find the simplest and most concise methods to provide actionable tasks in Stepping Stones to Harmony. My goal was to simplify design and home organization to the point that it was almost as easy as doing laundry. My goals was to allow the reader to quickly gain information, try out new simple skills, and get results.
This book is an easy read and all the tools are meant to be customized and flexible. One person may love bins and labels, another may not. There is only one right answer - do what works best for you. Check the blog for more quick tips. Life is too short to waste time on chores.
